When I picture my adult self, I always envision my life being like an episode of “The Wild Thornberrys” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Wild_Thornberrys): packed with adventure, fulfillment, and risk; a life of doing things just for the love of it all! Seeing myself now, I realize that my life already embodies those dreams. I came to the University of Oregon based solely on an instinct; for some reason, perhaps many, I knew it was meant to be. I remember standing in the driveway about to leave for my first trip to Oregon for orientation when I turned to my mom and asked, “what if I’m wrong about it all?” Her reply taught me to put aside doubt and has lead my life since. Four years later, I have never looked back. My undergraduate research has been focused on the ecological structures surrounding two particular gastropods. I look forward to broadening that work at Lough Hyne and in the future. |
